单作用叶片泵的偏心距e是可以改变的。改变e的大小即可改变泵的排量。如果偏心方向改变,泵的吸排液方向也随之改变。为使排液区的叶片两端所受压力平衡,以便在离心力作用下从转子槽中顺利滑现而贴紧定子表面,通常使这些叶片槽底部与排液腔相通;而位于吸液区的各叶片槽底部则与吸液腔相通,以避免这些叶片端部与定子压得过紧,从而减轻它们的磨损。单作用叶片泵一侧是低压,一侧是高压,泵轴和轴承要承受很大的径向载荷。因此,单作用叶片泵也称为非平衡式叶片泵,这一缺点-了单作用叶片泵工作压力的提高。
